Chose to drive from Venice, CA to San Francisco, CA and back over the course of a long weekend.

500+ miles (one-way), 13 hours city-to-city, many photos, lots of pit stops, one massive detour and one low fuel panic and I finally made it to the #citybythebay.

Nothing But Nets

Today, we are thrilled to officially release our very first virtual reality film, titled “Under the Net.” The film is premiering at the Cinequest Film and VR Festival and it has been named Best VR Documentary. It is available on Discovery VR, Discovery Communications’ Webby- and Shorty-award winning virtual reality offering, which is available for download and viewing on iOS and AndroidSamsung Gear VR, and on Nothing But Nets YouTube using Google Cardboard.
The film features an 11-year-old girl named Amisa, a refugee living in the Nyarugusu Refugee Camp in Tanzania with her mother and six siblings. Struggling to survive each day, with no protection from mosquitoes that carry malaria at night, the viewer will experience Amisa’s life through her eyes. Hope abounds as her family moves into a new home, gets treatment for malaria, and she and her siblings prepare to start school– none of which is possible without the life-saving protection of bed nets.

Every fall I make a pilgrimage to the Telluride Film Festival over the long Labor Day weekend.

In 2014, I decided to challenge myself my driving a big chunk of the way on my '09 Vespa. I ended up driving from LA-to-Vegas on the Vespa. Parked it in Vegas. Did Vegas-to-Telluride in a car, and back. Then returned Vegas-to-LA on the Vespa. Along the way I detoured to the Hoover Dam, The Grand Canyon and Death Valley.

Chrysler Beneath the Surface

In 2014, To promote the then new Chrysler 200, Wieden + Kennedy partnered with Stopp to deliver a first-of-its-kind interactive virtual reality experience that showcases how the car is manufactured at it's state-of-the-art, 5 million square foot assembly plant. 'Beneath the Surface' is a 4-minute VR experience that puts the user in the driver's seat to see first-hand how the car is built around them.

The experience premiered at the LA Auto show, where users entered the vehicle and put on the latest Oculus Rift DK2 headset. Immediately, they were transported to a virtual world and taken on an audio/visual tour of the Chrysler 200. The visual ride was augmented by an explosive soundscape that literally shakes the car beneath the user as the experience progresses.

'Beneath The Surface' was the world's first consumer experience to combine live-action 360 video in a game engine. At the time this experience released, Oculus Rift said that "Chrysler's Beneath The Surface is the most ambitious virtual reality experience to date. It sets the bar for what's to come."

'Beneath The Surface' has since gone on a tour around the world, making stops in South Korea, Japan, New York, Detroit & Chicago.
